Advice centre evening legal session volunteers
This operates as an adjunct to the daytime advice centre. The underlying aim is to give initial advice to anyone who attends. The type of legal advice is varied but the main types which arise are Consumer problems, Matrimonial and family matters, General private client matters, General Court matters and Employment matters.
The sessions are held every Monday from 7pm – 8.30 / 9pm. The volunteer must be a qualified lawyer and should be able to commit for a minimum of 6 months. We also take on para legals to assit the lawyer and they need to be training to be a solcitor or doing pupilage to become a barrisater. Generally two volunteers attend the session each week and are on the rota roughly every four weeks, or more frequent if they want.
