What is Counselling?
Counselling is an opportunity to talk confidentially to a trained helper who will listen without judgement and help you to gain a deeper understanding of your behaviours, thoughts and feelings. By doing this a lot of people find they begin to make sense of things and to feel better.
Counsellors don’t not tell you what to do, but work with you to reflect on whatever you are finding difficult and help you to find a way forward.
Our Service
Our volunteer counsellors are here to help you through difficulties in your life including anxiety, depression, bereavement and relationship difficulties. We are a BACP accredited service and our counsellors include students at an advanced stage of their training in integrative, psychodynamic and person-centred counselling approaches.
We offer 20 weekly counselling sessions. These last 50 minutes and can be held at times during the week that suit you. Counselling is delivered face to face at our counselling rooms in West Norwood. We have a very limited number of spaces for Zoom or telephone counselling for those unable to work face to face but there can be a long wait for these. For those looking specifically for remote counselling we would advise contacting local low-cost counselling service One Vision Counselling.
We are able to offer counselling to those aged over 18 who live in Lambeth or our surrounding boroughs.
How to access counselling
We have currently reached full capacity; therefore we are temporarily suspending all
